DIY Shampoo

Updated: Jul 31, 2019

Have you ever tried to read the ingredients on the back of a shampoo bottle?

Ease your health conscious worry with this simple ingredient shampoo that really works!

Why make your own?

Now-a-days it's hard to find beauty products that aren't full of harmful and synthetic chemicals.

With this shampoo you know exactly what's in it.

Plus, one 8oz bottle of liquid Castile soap will make 24 shampoo re-fills. That eliminates 24 plastic commercial shampoo bottles.

What's in it?

All you need to make this shampoo is Castile soap, baking soda, essential oils, and water.

My favourite essential oil blend is lemongrass, rosemary and lavender. This combination provides a refreshing and enjoyable scent while the lemongrass helps aid scalp inflammation and strengthens hair follicles. Lavender is a great antimicrobial and antibacterial oil that improves scalp health and the rosemary stimulates hair growth, prevents premature graying, dandruff, and also helps with a dry or itchy scalp.

How to make it

1 tablespoon baking soda

2 teaspoons liquid Castile soap

3 drops of lemongrass essential oil

5 drops of rosemary essential oil

8 drops of lavender essential oil

1.5 cups of water

In a small container or squeeze bottle (like an old ketchup container) mix together the above ingredients.

Shake before each use.

Avoid contact with eyes.

Enjoy!
